The goal of the Pilgrim's Men’s Ministry is to facilitate the spiritual growth of men in our community by providing opportunities to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, their families and each other. The opportunities include bible studies, projects to serve upon together, or just hanging out. We invite you to join us for one or more of these gatherings!

Activities include:
• Regular Saturday morning Bible study at Pilgrim

 INTERNATIONAL & HOME MISSIONS

CHAD MISSION

Picture
We are learning to walk alongside these Chadian believers as fellow humans growing in justice, mercy, and faithfulness, so that they become compassionate refugee aid workers, school teachers, Bible translators, and evangelists.
Nathanael, Church of the Lutheran Brethren Missionary
Can you imagine living in an area where you don't know the language and the most important tool is a simple garden hoe? Nathanael and Carrie can. They and their family are part of disciple making movement in Chad, living in a village among an unreached people group who speak Bagirmi. The family is reaching people with the gospel as they continue to study the language and build relationships with new friends.

Several projects are underway: a Bible Story project, famine relief for war refugees, Bible translation, a cattle project, and growth of the elementary school in the village. In each of these projects, Nathanael ends up handing the management to his Chadian brothers and sisters.

Pilgrim provides salaries for two teachers in the village at the Gethsémané de Meube school in Boudamasa that Nathanael has helped form and build.  We also provide funding to support the project of translating the Bible into the local Bagirmi language.

So what about that hoe? It is the main tool used for planting sorghum or millet in clay fields. It's also used for bongoro, to help the plants live in dry conditions. The hoe is also used to carry things and it can also be used as a seat.

MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR CHRIST

Picture
We couldn't do what we do in the world if it we did not have the love and generosity of our church, Pilgrim Lutheran Brethren.
Marcia Skelton, MSFC Founder
Led by Marcia and Scott Skelton, Medical Supplies For Christ (MSFC) provides missionaries with quality medical equipment and supplies to assist them in preventing, or alleviating the suffering of people in underdeveloped countries where health care barely or doesn't exist. Marcia's and Scott's first purpose is to bring Bibles in appropriate languages to tell people about Jesus. They only go on mission trips where they can do this!

Through the years, Marcia and Scott have served with their ministry to Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Belize, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Burkina Faso, Chad, Cameroon, Kenya, Thailand and India. They also volunteer, bring Bibles and first aid supplies to  Kentucky Mountain Mission/Youth Haven Bible Camp in Beattyville, Kentucky every summer.

MSFC is a part of Technical Exchange for Christian Healthcare (TECH), a community of Christian ministries connecting members with appropriate resources, information, and education, maximizing their mission impact by improving the quality of global healthcare.

Pilgrim hosts an annual fundraiser to benefit MSFC, each year in either August or September. Most years the fundraiser is a fabulous Fish Fry with either walleye or perch caught in our Great Lake Erie by members of our church. If the fish don't cooperate, we still have the fundraiser and call it a "Fishless Fry" - still fabulous.

RUNNING 4 HIM 24-7 MINISTRIES

Picture
Learn from Job how electricity came to the Demonstration Farm.
Watch now
Agriculture ~ Water Access ~ Education

These are the hallmarks of Running 4 Him 24-7, a mission started in Honduras by Job Gámez. Pilgrim made a connection with Job during Mission Team trips to Honduras when he was a young boy. He eagerly and enthusiastically followed the team as they worked on church & school buildings, improved water supply, and taught the gospel in his community. Today, Job continues with these activities with the creation of a "Demonstration Farm" and more to build God's kingdom!

What is a Demonstration Farm?

God has led Job and his wife Adria with the creation of a "Demonstration Farm"  to reach people with the gospel. The farm is a cooperative project for farmers designed to show them how to become more efficient with farming practices and how to generate reliable incomes for their families. Watch how the farm works.
