SUNDAY SERVICES
​Join us for worship service at either 8:30 AM or 11:00 AM.

​Pilgrim conducts its services in an informal style of worship, highlighted by congregational singing, prayer, praise, fellowship, and Bible-based sermons. Communion is offered to all believers and is generally celebrated the third Sunday of the month during both services.  Learn more >>

ABOUT PILGRIM

Pilgrim has a vibrant, worshipful spirit! Our church is led by Pastor Bob Heggestad, Associate Pastor Dave Martin, and Youth Director Julie Goodman. Our congregation is multigenerational with activities, Bible Study, and opportunities for all to grow and thrive. Pilgrim is a Lutheran church however you do not need to be raised Lutheran to attend! People who call Pilgrim home come from many different backgrounds including Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Jewish, and yes, even agnostic.   Learn more >>

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that God is in our midst, saving, changing, and healing lives! Pilgrim's theology and practice are traditional and orthodox in nature. We believe in the authority, accuracy and relevancy of the Bible. We teach salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. ​

​​Pilgrim’s theology is traditional Lutheran. We are grounded in the Biblical and Reformation truths emphasized by Martin Luther, the great German reformer. Our doctrine is based on justification by grace alone through faith alone by the work of Christ alone. We believe that truth is primarily revealed to us by the Holy Spirit working through Scripture. Scripture alone is the final authority for faith, life, and doctrine. We believe and trust in the one who is far greater than we are, God, who is our Rock and our Redeemer.

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP 

​Theatre Camp participants will spend their time singing, learning choreography, rehearsing lines and staging, studying God’s Word, helping with sets and props, making new friends, and presenting their message to the congregation!

The Kingdom Connection…where the Bible comes to life!
Join us on an adventure as we spend an exciting day at the Bible museum. The kids meet King David, King Saul, King Herod, and that wise ruler, King Solomon! The program ends with the ultimate message that, even among all the powerful kings of the Bible, the one true King, the King of ALL kings, the One we need most in our lives, is King Jesus! We don’t have to go to a museum to learn about our God. Because of Jesus, we can experience the Kingdom of God both now and in Heaven. Jesus is our King...THAT is our Kingdom Connection!

ED BOARD ACTIVITIES
Our Parish Board of Education creatively plans many events for families at Pilgrim including our Advent and Easter Festivals.

Don't miss our popular Vacation Bible School which is filled with music, lively Bible Stories, entertaining skits, crafts and lots of fun! It usually takes place in June, watch for registration dates.

PRIME TIMERS 55+ ACTIVITIES

Prime Timers for ages 55+ usually meet the 2nd Monday of each month. Many of Pilgrim's retirees and friends gather for a great meal and a terrific time of fellowship. A number of lasting friendships have begun at Prime Timers events!

YOUTH GROUP ACTIVITIES

Pilgrim's Youth Group fosters an environment for teens in grades 7 through 12 to reach, grow, and go together in their spiritual journey with Jesus Christ. Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings in the Youth Room downstairs in the church from  5:00 - 7:00 PM. The group is active with fun events, awesome retreats, and meaningful service projects.

SUMMER FAMILY LIFE

Our Summer Wednesday night program begins with supper at 6:00 PM outside in our beautiful pavilion. On many occasions, you might be served world-famous "Poppa Whoppers" hot from the grill. Concerts, activities, or Bible Studies for all ages begin at 7:oo PM. On rainy evenings, we move inside to the Fellowship Room and Grace Hall Gym.

MSFC FISH FRY FUNDRAISER

Pilgrim hosts an annual fundraiser to benefit Medical Supplies For Christ, a homegrown ministry that helps provide quality healthcare to people in the developing world. Most years the fundraiser is a fabulous Fish Fry with either walleye or perch caught in our Great Lake Erie by members of our church. If the fish don't cooperate, it's still fabulous and probably features Pilgrim-made pulled pork!

STUDY & GROW

SUNDAY SCHOOL

​Sunday School occurs between our two worship services beginning at 9:45 AM.

Classes are provided for all ages:

​PreK/K Class
Grades 1-3 Class
Grades 4-6 Class
Teen Class, Grades 7-12
Adult Classes

Regular Sunday School runs from September to the end of May with curriculum that builds on previous lessons. In the summer months, we shift gears by combining classes for topical studies.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT CLASSES

​Wednesday Nights at Pilgrim begin with supper (Most Nights) at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Room followed by classes.

Classes for all ages, including Confirmation Class, begin at 7:00 PM in our downstairs classrooms. Nursery is available.

For adults, in addition to topical bible-based classes, there are often special classes on parenting and financial peace.

Pilgrim has a dynamic Caring Ministry made up of a large team of members who care for our congregation by providing encouragement and prayer, meals, and other services as needed.

CHILDREN's MINISTRY

There are many ministry activities that focus on kids at Pilgrim! From outings to fun activities to classes, our Parish Board of Education and Youth Group come up with creative ways to bring the Gospel to kids. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to share their spiritual gifts and grow in their faith as they minister to our kids.

Musical Theatre Camp is a highlight of Pilgrim's children's ministry and takes place in either July or August each year. Many lasting friendships have formed at this camp as the kids come together to produce a Christ centered musical in just 5 days! It's a fantastic production and ministry!

PRIME TIMER's MINISTRY

Led by Pastor Bob and Jan, Prime Timers is a special ministry for people age 55 and over. Close bonds are formed in this loving group. Don't be shy, if you are over 55, the group would love to welcome you!

The Men’s Ministry of Pilgrim is called by God to make a positive difference in men’s lives through Christ-Centered relationships, discipleship and service beginning at home and expanding to our neighborhoods, community, and the world.

SPORTS MINISTRY
​
​From basketball to volleyball mixed with roller hockey, pickle ball, boating, and cross-country skiing, Pilgrim has many sports ministries for participation. Some groups are organized, like men's basketball and pickle ball and others are more spontaneous, like boating with Pastor or cross-country skiing at Chapin Forest.

Many of our community's teens and young adults come to Pilgrim to play basketball on our outdoor courts. We also open our gym to kids and families in the community on snow days and for special events.

​The Women's Ministry encourages and equips women to grow in their relationship with the Lord and nurtures relationships between women. This is an active group that plans many events throughout the year. Most importantly, the team's goal is for people to come to a living faith in Christ.

Hannah's Home

Provides a safe and nurturing home for single young women who are pregnant. Their focus is on bringing women to a personal relationship with Christ and teaching them the skills necessary to make eternal changes in their lives and in the life of their child.

The City Mission empowers men, women, and children in crisis to overcome their unique, complex paths to homelessness.

Greater Cleveland Food Bank

Serving more than 18,000 households, including 47,000+ neighbors. Nutritious foods and resources from over 7,500 partners lift neighbors up and ease their burden.  Learn more >>

Pilgrim heads over to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank the first Thursday of each month. Many hands make for light and fun work. Please contact Pastor Dave if you are interested in serving.
Habitat for Humanity

When the opportunity arises, we team up with the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity in their mission to bring affordable housing to the Greater Cleveland area communities and the families that live in them.​

Project Hope for the Homeless

Pilgrim supports Project Hope for the Homeless in many ways. The Missions Team commits a monthly monetary donation and members of our congregation faithfully prepare a meal for residents each month. Our Sunday School also helps raise funds and Youth Group is involved with service projects.

Compassion International is a child-development ministry dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Through sponsorships and donations, they empower local churches to provide individualized and holistic care to children in poverty so they are free to learn, grow, play, and dream.
